About Lecturer:

Atsuro Matsuda is a visiting professor of the College of Animal Science, Jilin University. He is a famous scientific and technological researcher of animal nutrition in Japan. He is authoritative in animal nutrition, especially amino acid additives, and has a certain international influence.

Professor Atsuro Matsuda had worked in Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd. for more than 30 years, mainly engaged in the Animal Nutrition Division, and took charge of the guidelines formulation, design and implementation supervision of the scientific research projects of animal nutrition in the company. As the head of the Animal Nutrition Division, he led the establishment of ANTC (Animal Nutrition Technology Center) in Malaysia in 2013. Later, he took the lead in setting up the South American Research Center in Brazil in 2017 to provide technical services and conduct international research collaborations.

During his tenure as the head of the Animal Nutrition Division at Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd, he made vigorous efforts to promote the internationalization of the company’s international research activities in animal nutrition, and also carried out international cooperative research activities with Jilin University, Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences, China Agricultural University, Bangkok University, as well as the universities and research institutes in Malaysia, Brazil, the Philippines and other countries on nutrient metabolism of amino acids, antibiotic substitutes, and pollution-free additives for livestock and poultry. He is well known worldwide in animal nutrition, especially in the field of amino acid additives.

In April 2018, he was transferred to the National Agriculture and Food Research Organization (NARO), serving as one of the 15 standing directors of research institutions, ranked 6th, and taking charge of “international cooperation, intellectual property and international standardization, advertising”. NARO is a national scientific research institute operated and guided by the Japanese government, representing the most advanced scientific research equipment and research team in the Japanese agri-food industry, with more than 3,000 employees, including nearly 2,000 professional researchers.

Since October 2019, he has been a visiting professor of Animal Nutrition and Feed, College of Animal Science, Jilin University.
