(I) Introduction
The laboratory of the college covers a total area of more than 8,000 square meters, including 2,500 square meters of laboratory animal purification facilities, 1,400 square meters of large and medium-sized normal laboratory for laboratory animals and 200 square meters of level-2 laboratory for animal biosafety. The total value of the experimental instruments and equipment is more than RMB 60 million. In recent years, the College has undertaken 4 projects valued more than RMB 10 million, 1 national key project valued more than RMB 1 million, 36 projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 95% of the projects of young teachers were funded. The annual research funding is more than RMB 22 million, or RMB 462,700 per person annually. The College has distinctive features in the field of breeding new animal varieties, transgenic cloning and model animals.
