The College of Animal Science Held Training Competition for Contestants of “Teaching Contest of Young Teachers” and “Bilingual Teaching Contest of Young and Middle-Aged Teachers”

In order to further strengthen the teaching ability and teaching level of young teachers in the College, recently, the College organized a teaching training and a training competition for the teachers who participated in the “Teaching Contest of Young Teachers” and “Bilingual Teaching Contest of Young and Middle-Aged Teachers” of Jilin University in accordance with the principle of “replace training with competition and combining competition with training”.

On June 17, the College organized a teaching training for young teachers, in which Ms. Chen Lu provided the training on preparing for the teaching contest. Ms. Chen Lu communicated with young teachers from the “error-prone areas” of teaching logic, teaching application and teaching competition, and the participating teachers benefited a lot.

On June 28, the College held a training competition for the teachers who participated in the “Teaching Contest of Young Teachers” and “Bilingual Teaching Contest of Young and Middle-Aged Teachers” of Jilin University. Professor Zeng Fanqin, Supervisor Expert of the College, Professor Zhang Jiabao, President of the College, Zhao Guangjun, Secretary of the CPC Party Committee, Sun Boxing, Vice President, Yuan Bao, Vice President, and Professor Liu Dianfeng were invited to act as judges for the training competition. The training competition included five participants, falling into two groups, namely the group of “Teaching Contest of Young Teachers” and the group of “Bilingual Teaching Contest of Young and Middle-Aged Teachers”. The judges made on-site comments based on the teaching plans, writing on the blackboard, teaching attitude, basic teaching skills, teaching content, methods and teaching effects of the participants. The participants presented novel teaching methods, outstanding personal characteristics, scientific and reasonable design of teaching content, proper application of multimedia, regular blackboard writing, and clear priorities and difficulties, achieving the expected competition and training effects.

Following the contest, the judges and teachers had a heated discussion on the content of the contest. Professor Zeng Fanqin affirmed the teaching effect of the participants, pointed out their problems and put forward the improvement measures. All participating teachers should take this contest training as an opportunity to further strengthen their basic and practical teaching skills, strive to create high-quality courses in line with the characteristics of the times, and promote the overall improvement of the education and teaching level of the college.
