On the afternoon of October 12, the College of Animal Science organized a basketball exchange match between freshmen and seniors in the basketball court of Heping Campus. The two teams participating in the game were a freshmen team composed of students from the 2021 class and a senior team composed of students from the 2019 and 2020 classes. The purpose of this basketball game is to make friends with the basketball club and promote communication so that the college between the new and old students as soon as possible can become familiar with each other and help the freshmen integrate into the college sooner.
Before the competition, Wu Yuchen, an undergraduate student of Grade 2019, opened with the song "Soul of the Basket". The new and old students introduced themselves briefly. With the college Party Committee deputy secretary Xiao Jianrong teacher kick-off, the game officially began. Players on both sides do not give in at all, tight defense, strong attack, fierce snatch, the game is wonderful, the audience mood is high. As the game went on, the score on the field gradually increased. With the tacit cooperation of the old team, the freshman team gradually lost ground.
During the intermission, 2021 undergraduates Shi Baihe and Yang Hao brought the song "Nan Shan Nan", and Yuying Jiang and Wenbo Tang brought the song "Listen to your Mother". The touching melody temporarily relieved the tense atmosphere. During this time, the players of each team also worked hard to communicate and redistribute tactics. In the second half of the game, the freshmen team cooperated better and tried to catch up with the score but finally lost 15 points. After the game, the two players shook hands and hugged each other, looked at each other in a friendly manner, and took a group photo.
Friendship first, competition second, although there are winners and losers in this game, but the players gain more is the joy of competition and sincere friendship. The basketball exchange competition of the new and old students fully showed the vigorous vitality and competitive enthusiasm of our college students, strengthened the team cohesion of the new students, and made certain preparations for the selection of outstanding players for the college to participate in the school-level basketball game.
