The project "Development of key Technologiestechnologies to improve the production performance of Dongliao Black Pigblack pigs" carried out by the breeding Technologytechnology team of theCollege of Animal Science and Zhejiang Tiansheng Group has recentlymade new progressrecently. On July 1, 2022, the first batch of Dongliao black pigs, which were genetically tested and systematically bred, were delivered to Jilin Tiansheng Group by the pig breeding technical team of our school, and were successfully transferred to Shaoxing, Zhejiang. As the "seeds" of Dongliao black pigs, they will be bred in Shaoxing.
Dongliao Black Pigblack pig is a characteristic pig breed in Jilin Province, with delicious meat and unique flavor. The proportion of fresh amino acids and the content of unsaturated fatty acids in pork are higher than those in ordinary pork. The College of Animal Science of Jilin University and Zhejiang Tiansheng holdingHolding Group are school-land partners tothat jointly build a characteristic pig genetic improvement laboratory and Dongliao black pig performance testing center in the agricultural experimental base of Jilin University, and undertake a number of school-land cooperation projects. On October 12, 2021, Tiansheng Group provided 158 Dongliao black pigs as the "experimental material" of the technical team of pig breeding in the college. The team will conduct systematic scanning, performance testing and genetic improvement experiments on this group of pigs, hoping to produce new pig breeds with good performance and delicious meat. After somatotype and appearance identification, pedigree investigation and gene determination, the breeding technical team divided the breeding population into 5 families, using batch production technology, simultaneous estrusoestrus, simultaneous conception, andsimultaneous delivery, and divided the populationinto 4 production batches. On December 20, 2021, the first batch of pig mothers became pregnant successfully; on April 15, 2022, the first batch of 320 pig babies gave birth smoothly. The technical team carried out a number of performance tests as scheduled to grasp the growth of piglets in real time, combined with major genesgene and genome selection methodmethods. Excellent individuals who meetthe breeding goals are selected from large groups as the golden "seeds" ofthe second-generation breeding. On July 1, the breeding team delivered the first batch of 280 healthy piglets to Zhejiang Tiansheng Group and successfully transferred them to the newly built Shaoxing Dongliao Black Pig breeding Basebase. Another 30 gold "seeds" remain in the genetic improvement laboratory to continue testing and research and development.
The gold medal "seeds" of this batch of conservation piglets are another fruit of school-land cooperation, just likesimilar to "seeds",and they will expand and breed in Zhejiang. This indicates that the Dongliao black pig breeding school-enterprise cooperation project has entered a new stage, and the results of the cooperation have contributed to the upgrading of theDongliao black pig industry and solving the problem of Chinese pig breeds.
