Recently, Professor Ren Linzhu of our college published two critical articles online: "Virusesfrompoultryandlivestockposecontinuousthreatstohumanbeings" and "TransmissionofSARS-CoV-2viafomite, especiallycoldchainte, especiallycoldchain, shouldnotbeignored" in the international top comprehensive academic journal Proceedings of the American Academy of Sciences (PNAS) as the communication author (our university is the communication unit).

At present, most of the known viruses that can infect humans come from animals. Coronavirus infection, especially the outbreak of COVID-19, has posed a great threat to global public health security and animal health, and it is likely to develop into a common infectious disease. Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic, the research group has actively carried out related research work with years of research experience. Up to nowTo date, the research group has published more than 10 articles related to coronavirus, which provide a theoretical basis and feasible plan for the prevention and control of theCOVID-19 epidemic situation in time.

The above two articles published by PNAS reviewed the cross-species transmission of coronavirus and the cold chain transmission of novel coronavirus. It is suggested that we should pay attention to and re-evaluate the risk of interspecies transmission of livestock and poultry virusviruses (especially coronavirus). At the same time, we should also pay attention to the possibility of goods (especially cold chain) spreading thenovel coronavirus and take necessary preventive measures.

The Proceedings of the American Academy of Sciences (PNAS), founded in 1914, provides high-level cutting-edge research reports, academic reviews, discipline review and foresight, and academic papers. It is recognized as one of the four famous journals (Cell,Nature,Science,PNAS) in the world.
